Asian Dance Tour Taipei Open ( World Ranking Competition )

Asian Dance Tour Taipei Open is Taiwan's first world ranking competition designated by the World Dance Organization (WDO), the only official open competition, and the only international touring competition for standard dance in the world.

The predecessor of the Asian Tour was the Asian Open, held annually in February and organized by the Japan Dance Council (JDC). It offered the highest prize money in global competitions, reaching up to $160,000 (equivalent to over 5 million New Taiwan Dollars), attracting many top ballroom dancers from around the world to participate. The organizer, Isao Nakagawa, is the president of the Asian Dance Organisers (ADO), and under his leadership, the high-prize competitions were expanded throughout Asia, forming the Asian Tour.

Since 2008, Japan has led the way in hosting the "2008 Professional Standard Dance World Championship Asia Tour" together with Taiwan, South Korea, Macau, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, with a total prize pool of up to 1 million USD (nearly 30 million TWD). The scale of this event has become a focal point in the world of professional dance, attracting top competitors from over 30 countries and world-class diamond-level international judges. This has elevated the standard of competitive ballroom dancing in Asia and successfully connected it with the international scene.

Our association has successfully held the Asian Tour from 2008 to 2023.
